GEICO Auto Glass Claims

GEICO covers windshield replacement under comprehensive coverage. Deductibles run from $0 to $500 depending on your policy, and in Florida, Arizona, South Carolina, Kentucky, and Colorado you pay nothing at all. Windshield Station files the claim, documents the work, and bills GEICO directly.

How GEICO handles glass claims

Glass damage is a comprehensive claim, not a collision claim, so GEICO assigns no fault and the claim does not carry the rating consequences of an at-fault accident. Approval for glass is typically immediate and does not require an adjuster to inspect the vehicle.

We handle the entire process: verifying your coverage, confirming your deductible before anything is scheduled, filing the claim, documenting the installation including any ADAS recalibration, and billing GEICO directly. Most customers never speak to their insurer at all.

Your GEICO deductible

GEICO comprehensive deductibles for glass commonly fall between $0 and $500. In Florida, Arizona, South Carolina, Kentucky, and Colorado, state law or policy structure removes the deductible entirely for windshield replacement.

Chip repair is a different matter: GEICO, like nearly every carrier, generally waives the deductible on repairs completely. The arithmetic is simple — a resin repair costs them a fraction of a replacement, so they would much rather pay for it today.

You choose the shop, not GEICO

GEICO may recommend a network installer. In the great majority of states they cannot require one, and they are obligated to pay a reasonable market rate for work performed by the shop you select.

Because we bill GEICO directly at standard rates, choosing us creates no additional paperwork or cost for you. Call (888) 897-5577 with your policy number and we will handle the rest.

The GEICO Claim Process

1

Call us with your GEICO policy number

We verify your comprehensive coverage and confirm your exact deductible before anything is scheduled, so the number you hear is the number you pay.

2

We file the claim

We open the glass claim with GEICO on your behalf and obtain the authorization. You do not need to call them.

3

Technician comes to you

A certified installer arrives at your home, office, or job site with the correct glass for your VIN and completes the work on site.

4

We bill and document

We invoice GEICO directly and retain full documentation of the installation and any ADAS calibration. You receive copies for your records.

Coverage Notes

  • GEICO routes glass claims through a third-party administrator, but you still choose the installer.
  • Chip repair is generally waived from the deductible on comprehensive policies.
  • A comprehensive glass claim does not typically affect your premium the way an at-fault collision claim does.
